San Xurxo de Lourenza: The link of this one parish with the Vilanova monastery carries back to the year 958, when king Ordoño grants to the monastery, between other grounds, this one church and, when in 1180 Fernando II puts in hands of the mentioned one Benedictine monastery the parish with all his grounds. The temple parochial of the XVIIth century, it preserves inside a reredos neoclassic, another baroque and three more of popular style. It deserves to be out-standing the parochial silver cross. Also inside the term parochial to indicate the existence of four chapels: that of San Pedro (XVIIth century); that of Sto. Estevo (XVth century); that of Santa Cristina, rebuilt recently and with interest images and, finally, the chapel of San Brais, in Alaxe at present closed to the cult. (Text delegation Lugo).
Temple of San Xurxo of Lourenza: it was construído in the XVIIIth century on previous buildings, placed on one ancient fort, recluse and with beautiful conference on the vale. Of rectangular plant with walls plasters and covering of slate to two you water down. It consists of ship with two side chapels, major chapel and vestry to the left of this one. Two side chapels were realized at the beginning of this century. In facade, porch with entry arched with covering of slate to three waters, door principal with arch carpanel and the inscription "Is a Church of refuge", and bulrush of two bodies and three vain ones of baroque style. Interior: major reredos of the XIXth century of neoclassic style, reredos side baroque and side lefthander popular right, with several sizes of different epochs. (Text of Turgalicia).
