Places of Doncos: Espariz, Expert Fontes, Oak grove, Sebras, Vilarin.

The place name Doncos seems to derive from "Duancos", the Town of the Zoelas. The importance of this one term is endorsed by the fact that for the same one it was crossing one of the Roman military routes from Panties to Astorga. With posteriority, Doncos with town status, possessed proper jurisdiction and integrated by the parish of his name, Ferreiros of Balboa, Nullán and Vilouta. Inside the parochial term it is, on a hill, the castle of Doncos, ancient lot of the Valcarce. Of García Rodríguez de Valcarce, moved forward major than the Kingdom of Gallicia, lowers the count of Ayala, master of Doncos. In the same term we have the palace of Doncos, hamlet of the XIXth century. Since it recounts to the parochial temple it is of the XVIIth century and it was founded for predecessors of the count of Ayala and Monterrey, masters of the town of Doncos. In the year 1809, in the assault of the town for troops French, the parochial church suffered big damages of hand of A Fournier, governor of the French in the city of Lugo.
