The saws of Tejeda and Almijara provide to abundant Archez water that, canalized for different creek.
Little is known about the history of this Town. It seems that it has his origin in a Moorish farmhouse. In 1487, the Christian troops conquered the Archez town together with others of the environment happening with all of them to be part of the dominion of D. Diego Fernández of Cordova, which later would be a Marquess of Coseas.
The locality is included in the Route of the Mudejar, not only for being necessary step towards other populations that they integrate this route but because the province of Malaga is provided with one of the best examples of this art in : the tower minaret of the church of Embodiment: declared artistic character historic monument national. This minaret is of red brick and XIVth century was constructed in . His plant is a 3,64 m square. with a central prop of 1,07 m.; around it raises the stairs covered of vault staggered of half a cannon. The entire height from the level of street, is of approximately 15 m. For the North side the policromía preserves in reddish tones with vegetable decorative motives in the part of rhombs, which occupy the whole front of four fronts, leaving the smooth corners. Over this body there is a tape of tiles forming rhombs and on this one, another smaller body limited by bricks fasciae, occupied by pointed arches of horseshoe interlaced. More above, the bells, in one of which there can be read: "It made me D. Ramón Rivas, being a proper Priest D. Ildefonso Tomé and García, and Mayor D. Antonio García Azuaga, Year 1876".
