 The apiary constitutes the door of entry to the of Malaga area of the Nature reserve of the Alcornocales. The vegetation that surrounds The Apiary is constituted by one impressive forest tract that extends during tens of kilometers. The most representative tree is the cork oak, made use traditionally for the extraction of the cork.

Very close there finds the gullet of The Buitreras, the spectacular one cannon that the erosion of the waters of the river Guadiaro has gone constructing on the lime rock.

The fair of The Apiary celebrates the week of July 25, in honor to Santiago Apostol. In the middle of May the pilgrimage takes place, in the Big Flat named place, to approximately three kilometers of Apiary. In August the Cultural, dedicated Week is celebrated fundamentally to the diffusion of the customs and traditions popular.

The place of the Sauceda or the slash of Buitreras, along with the district of The Apiary, is only two examples of the generosity with which the nature has treated to this one municipality. The first one is equipped perfectly to camp and, this way, there took the time that loves to enjoy the environment, and the second –las Buitreras - a more difficult access, rewards the effort realized in coming to him with a spectacle surprisingly: the course of the river Guadiaro boxed between some walls of more than 100 meters high

Apiary and the Station of Spanish Parliament are along with the river  Guadiaro being both train station of the line Bobadilla-Algeciras.
