Town hall

The grounds of this municipality are located on the south of the Saw of the Oreganal, where from they open to the vale of the Genal, and penetrate, for the East, into the Nature reserve of the Saw of Snow, where the Parauta pinsapar is located

According to some historians, Parauta arose from the union of two Towns, the proper one of Parauta and that of Benahazín, placed close to Cartajima, who for not clarified reasons added his grounds to Parauta and eliminated as such downtown

The Town has the delight of his Moorish tracing, with the good one part of his still cobbled streets. Between his streets us we find with two squares and three sources. The arch is interesting of entry to the street Attic

In the Town two quarters joined by a square can differ, and in the area placed more to the north it is where the church is located of Immaculate Concepcion: Church of the XVIth century with cross plant Latin. In his interior it lodges the Painful one, image of dressing of the century XVIII and a sculpture in polychrome wood of San Pascual Bailón, of Adrián Risueño, copy of an original of Pedro de Mena, of Cathedral of Malaga.

Not very far of the city center the holm oak Valdecilla is, to the one that some of them recount like “la mother of all the holm oaks ”. It has more than 20 meters high and exceeds three meters of diameter.
