The name of Monteagudo is given for existence of the mount that yergue majestic dominating the whole fertile plain and that, according to Robert Pocklington, is a place name that appears in Arab sources from the XIth century under the spelling Munt.qüd ó Muntaqüd, and in Castilian texts as Montagut ó Montagudo in Casualty Edad Média, and Monteagudo in modern times, proceeding, to turn of the Mozarab, of the Latin "Monte Acutum ” (the sharp mount).
