The economy of The Union was based during a lot of time on the exploitation of the mines of its mountain. After long decadence, new initiatives and procedures of exploitation (relavado of old detritus and it touches open) encouraged the mining toward the years 60. For then first immigrant Moroccans end up participating in the laboreo. Out or almost abandoned profitable the different exploitations, The Union has left transforming into a city bedroom of Cartagena. He/she also has relative importance for The Union the tourism, for their proximity to the beaches of the smallest Sea.
