Benalmádena is a municipality of the county of Málaga, in the autonomous community of Andalusia (Spain). Their economic main activity is the tourism starting from the second half of the XX century. It is located between the municipalities of Torremolinos and Fuengirola (in western Costa del Sol).Their origins go back to the time of Muslim dominance in the Iberian (Al-Andalus) Peninsula. It seems to be that the populational current nucleus was born around a mining location, of which is believed that it derives its toponimia (Children of the mine). Although there is perseverance of the human presence in some moment of the Prehistory, like they testify the paintings rupestres and the utensils found in the Cave of the Bull and of piscifactorías of the time of the Roman Empire. Of the nazaríes of the Kingdom of Granada that sowed the costs of the Kingdom of towers mastheads, they are three in the municipality (that of Tower-jetty, that of Tower-gulch and the Red Tower). It was incorporate to Christian Spain during the Reconquest on the part of Reyes Catholics at the end of the XV century.
