With the retreat of the French of the city of Valencia in 1813, the witness of the park picks up it general Javier Elio (General Captain from Valencia) who takes charge to the architect Manuel Serrano Insa the layout of the new garden in 1817. General Elio, in a principle wanted to place the king's statue Fernando VII, but at the end and with the money collected for such an end you comprarón botanical diverse species: orange trees, sallows, ash-trees etc. as well as diverse sculptures coming from the canon's old Orchard Pontons, many of which will have beautified other gardens of the city.
