Astorga (of Latin Asturica) is a Spanish city located in the county of León (Castile and León), located to the Southwest of the capital, to an altitude of 868 m on the sea level. It is the capital of the district of Maragatería. He/she has an extension of 46,78 km² and for her the river Jargon reflects. Their population is of 12.275 inhabitants (INE 2005), being the fifth city of the county for inhabitants' (after the capital and Ponferrada, San Andrés of Rabanedo and Villaquilambre) number.
