Also known as Monastery of San Lorenzo of Escorial, Monastery of San Lorenzo The Real one, or, simply, as Escorial, it was devised in the second half of the XVI century by the king Felipe II and their architect John the Baptist from Toledo, although later on they intervened Juan of Herrera, Juan of Mijares, Gian Battista Castello Bergamasco and Francisco of Blackberry. The king conceived a multi-functional, monkish and palatine great complex that, captured by John the Baptist from Toledo according to the paradigm of the Universal Appearance, he gave origin to the style herreriano.
