The district limits to the north with the First floor Martin, to the west with the Mining Basins, to the south with Maestrazgo and to the east with the First floor Aragon. The district is usually considered part of the First floor Historical Aragon.

Their economy is based mainly on the mining and in the employments generated by the thermal power station of Endesa located in Andorra. He/she also has certain relevance the agricultural industry and of materials for the construction.
