In the beginnings of the Reconquest the counties of Aragon, Sobrarbe and Ribagorza appear in Pirineo. The one that later was Aragonese powerful monarchy Aragon it began in the high valley of the river, where the mountaineers became strong against the Arabs. Incorporate to Navarrese, it recovered their independent life as Kingdom with reason of the testament of Sancho III the Adult. Pony was the primitive court of the Kingdom of Aragon, being later it Huesca after her conquest, until the taking of Zaragoza, historical capital of the Aragonese region.
