Built in the XVI century about a medieval temple, it is about an elegant building belonging to the call "style Reyes Catholics." In the XVII century he/she is added a Baroque great facade, built by Juan Raón toward 1660. It finishes off this facade Santiago's enormous relief Matamoros. In the XVII century he/she acquires their current aspect, with the incorporation of a Baroque facade finished off with Santiago's enormous figure Matamoros.It was possibly the medieval most important temple in the city, place in passing forced of the pilgrims in their to walk to Compostela.
