The Shield of Aragon, per time first attested in their good known disposition in 1499, are composed of the four barracks that, in the adopted configuration, they spread with prevalence on other heraldic ordinations, spreading to consolidate from the Modern Age to root with determination in the XIX century and to be approved, according to precept, for the Real Academy of the History in First 1921.El barracks, following the older conserved pattern, of 1499, commemorates to the legendary Kingdom of Sobrarbe; the second it describes the one denominated of old "cross of Íñigo Edge", considered as the traditional emblem of old Aragon; the third barracks continues the old models, according to those which the call Cruz of San Jorge remembers the saint's help in the battle of Huesca, in the XIV century and the room that according to the heraldistas modern Aragon represents, it picks up the bars of Aragon that constituted the Real "Sign of Aragon."
