Tuineje is a municipality canary belonging to the county of Las Palmas. It is located in the southeast of the island of Fuerteventura.He/she has an extension of 275,94 km² and a population of 12.517 inhabitants (National Institute of Statistic, 01-01 -2005). The main population nucleuses are Great Tarajal, Tarajalejo, Tesejerague and Tuineje.
Spaces shared with other municipalities of the Protected isla:Paisaje of Big Malpaís: field of lavas of emissions lcánicas.Natural Monument of Knives of Vigán: haven of species threatened as the guirre, the eagle pescadora and the berbería hawk.Rural Park of Betancuria: of great interest faunístico and refuge also for several threatened predators.Natural Monument of Boiler of Gairía: volcanic cone of recent eruption.
