At the end of the Half Age it highlights a fact of capital importance for the area: the discovery of the image of the Virgin of Peña from France (1434) that converted the built sanctuary later on in a pilgrimage place, to which the pilgrims united of the one on the way to Santiago that you/they followed the call on the way to the South for the Roadway of the Silver.In the XVII century Peña from France, with his Black Virgin, is already mentioned by Cervantes in The Cuisse; the valley of Batuecas is for Lope de Vega the scenario in which you/they take refuge two lovers that escape from the Court. From then on The Swimming pool, with Peña from France and Batuecas, they have been a scenario transformed into myth, in legend.
