The island Dragonera (or Sa Dragonera in Catalan) is an island belonging to the archipelago of the Balearic (in Spain) Islands and it is located to the west of Majorca. Their name probably comes from the Latin word Traco-traconis (traconaria > Dragonera) that means "fissure in the earth, resquebrajamiento, underground" steps making reference to the fissure of fresh water in a cave of the island, and not - against what seems - to "Dragons (that it is the name that is given to the small lizards in Balearic)."
