A Marjada is kind of a terrace created for the construction of a wall fact with dry (marge) stone in the side of a mountain. It was built to conserve the earth and power to sow, basically, unirrigated land trees like the olive trees. In Majorca, Spain, almost the whole Sierra of Tramuntana is full, because of his differences. Most, they were already built in the time of the Muslim dominance of the island. In the 2007, and due to the abandonment of the traditional cultivations, many of them have scattered. Picture: Antoni Sureda
