Archena is a Spanish municipality located in the east of the region of Murcia. It counts with 18.280 inhabitants (INE 2008).
Archena dista of Murcia 24 kilometers. It is understood among the parallel ones 38º 8' 24" and 38º 5' 9" and the meridians (referred to that of Madrid), of 2º 21' 5" and 2º 25' 19."
The municipal term is reduced 1.651 hectares, the great majority of irrigable.
It is part, among other, of the municipalities located in the valley of Ricote.
The Sure river that the territory archenero travels throughout seven kilometers, constitutes its fundamental axis; to both sides of the same one they are located the staggered terraces full with fruit-bearing and sour.
The relief of Archena is lightly wavy, with two mounds, the highest in the term, in its North (Ope and Sierra of Serreta) part, the central part is flater. Eduardo Panizo Gómez |
