| Sacred MarÃa the Real Cathedral of Pamplona. Employer of Navarrese in the presbytery, under a neo-Gothic baldachin, presides over Santa MarÃa's image the Real, beautiful copy of the sculpture románica. The shield of Navarrese appears described in the article 7.1 of the Organic Law of Reinstatement and Amejoramiento of the Statutory Régime of Navarrese, of August 10 1982 that establece:El shield is formed by chains of gold on red bottom, with an emerald in the center of union of its eight arms of links and, on them, the Real Crown, symbol of the Old Kingdom of Navarrese.This description corresponds to the historical shield of Navarrese - chain of gold on gules bottom - that the legend relates with the coat of arms that the Navarrese king Sancho VII the Strong one adopted as own in 1212, after the victory of the Christian kings of Navarrese, Castile and León, against the Muslim troops, happened in the Dales of Tolosa (current county of Jaén), inside the reconquest of the peninsula. The chains would represent those that surrounded the Muslim king's store MiramamolÃn the Green and that Sancho the Strong one broke up with their own sword. And the central emerald represents the one that the conquered king took on his turban.

The Organic Law of Reinstatement and Amejoramiento of the Statutory Régime of Navarrese (LORAFNA), of August of 1982, 10 settle down in their article 7.2: The flag of Navarrese is of red color, with the shield in the center.Also, the shield of Navarrese is formed by chains of gold on red bottom, with a green emerald in the center of union of its eight arms of links and, on them, the Real Crown, symbol of the old Kingdom of Navarrese.The flag of Navarrese comes using you as symbol of the territory from 1910 the red color was adopted to be this the same of the bottom of the official shield.
