The Flag of Galicia was born during the XIX century inspired by the flag of the Naval Command of Coruña.During the XIX century there was a great affluence of Galician emigrants toward America. One of the main ports of exit of the emigration was Coruña. The tradition counts that the Galician emigrants thought that the flag of the Naval Command of Coruña that waved in the port and in the transatlantic ones it was in fact the flag of Galicia. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandera_de_Galicia |

| Extended it is the well-known tradition that refers us the appearance of the image of the Virgin of Franqueira whose origin wants to go back, although the foundation is ignored, until the century Vll. An image that was worshipped by the native ones who hid it in the face of the fear of the sarracenos, in a grotto in the high of Paradanta from remote times, where it remained until an old man that shepherded her livestocks discovered some lights that pointed out the elected place of the sacred image |
