| The first image of Santina got lost for blame of a fire that destroyed the church that housed it inside the Cave (the word Covadonga in fact means Cave of the Mrs., Cova Dominique). This image, of style románico, was part of a wooden structure that hung in the air, surrounded by the cascade of the river Deva. Fair or year later and given the religious importance and also politics of the sanctuary, the cathedral of Oviedo donated the current Virgin's image. This image that was baptized by its historical past as the "Virgin of the Battles", is a size policromada covered with robe and mantel. However it was conceived to be shown without the robe and east mantel to which we make reference it is colored on the wood in a cyan one that one adorns with red flowers aligned vertically. |

The Statute of Autonomy for Asturias, article 3.1, it establishes that the flag of the Principality of Asturias is the traditional one, rectangular with Victoria's Cruz in yellow on blue bottom. Of Cruz's arms they hang the letters Greek alpha capital and minuscule omega that mean the principle and the end (the infinite extension of God). In the Law 4/1990, of December 19 the relative legislation is developed to the use of the flag, as well as its official dimensions, placement place in public ceremonies, color, etc. picture |
