Ponferrada is the capital of the district of Bierzo, belonging to the county of León, in the autonomous community of Castile and León (Spain). It is located in the coordinates 42,33° N, 006º 34' 59" OR, to 508 m on the sea level, in the fork of the rivers Sil and Boeza, and he/she has an approximate population of 65.000 inhabitants.The most important monument is the Castle Templario of Ponferrada, the biggest in extension deEuropa. Their construction concludes in 1282. In fact, the strength was up-to-date and reconstructed in numerous occasions throughout the history, among the XIII and XVII centuries. At the moment it is in rehabilitation process. After eliminating accumulated debris, to carry out consolidation works, etc., it is sought to reconstruct the castle completely, until their original form.It also highlights the Basilica of the Oak (1614), of Renaissance style; the Street of the Clock that communicates the square of the basilica with that of the City council; and the house consistorial (1692) of Baroque style.

Villamañán is a municipality located to the southeast of the county of León, in the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain, in the area mesetaria of the county of León and for which passes the river Esla.Originariamente was known as Villamagna, name that evolved toward its current version, Villamañán Villamañán is located to the south of the county of León, in the well-known district as Esla-Campos, to 37 kilometers of the city of León and 767 meters of altitude. It has 736 housings and a total of 1287 inhabitants.Some of the most celebrated places in Villamañán are the bigger famous Square in (good known as The Square) which are the church and their visible tower from the exterior of the town together with the kiosk, besides the hermitage of the Bramble (the legend counts that Virgin MarÃa's ghost appeared in a bramble and it ordered those that witnessed the appearance there the construÃr same a church in his honor, of there the names Hermitage of the Bramble and Virgin of the Bramble) and the well-known famous park as The Garden.

Riaño is a municipality of the County of León (Spain) located to the northeast of the same one, to the feet of the Cantabrian Mountain range, to 1.148 m of altitude. It is to 91 km of the provincial capital and it has a population of 539 inhabitants (INE 2005), known by the gentile of riañeses, with an extension of 85,08 km². Density: 6,33 hab./km2.The current town is comparatively recent. The original population, old Riaño or Old Riaño, it was flooded in the decade of 1980 by the construction of a reservoir.After several intents of building a swamp throughout the XX century, finally the valley in that he/she was (in the one that the rivers converge Esla, Yuso and Retuerto) was buried by the waters in 1987. The project of construction of the swamp gave place to popular numerous mobilizations. The town was reedificado in the summit of the mountain, leaving to its feet the swamp of Riaño.

Astorga (of Latin Asturica) is a Spanish city located in the county of León (Castile and León), located to the Southwest of the capital, to an altitude of 868 m on the sea level. It is the capital of the district of MaragaterÃa. He/she has an extension of 46,78 km² and for her the river Jargon reflects. Their population is of 12.275 inhabitants (INE 2005), being the fifth city of the county for inhabitants' (after the capital and Ponferrada, San Andrés of Rabanedo and Villaquilambre) number.
Astorga is also diocese (one of the most extensive and old from Spain) head whose jurisdiction embraces half of the county of León and it leaves of those of Prays you and Zamora.In the shield of the city an oak branch appears and its flag is red with the shield of the city in the center.Their gentile one is astorgano / to or asturicense, their postal code is 24700 and its geographical approximate position 42,46° N, 6,06° OR.
