Magdalena's Peninsula is in the city of Santander (Cantabria, Spain).He/she has a surface of 24.5 hectares. It was a gift of the city from Santander to the king XII Alfonso, at the present time transformed into public park. In her Magdalena's beach is located.It is dominated by the presence of Magdalena's Palacio. Also bill with a small zoo with seals and penguins (years ago there were also polar bears and lions), real (used as residence place for foreign students) stables, an infantile park and the three galleons that remember the trips of Vital Alsar.In 2000 they took place in the enclosure the semifinals of the Davis cup, between United States and Spain.

The shield of Cantabria is in an oblong (denominated in heraldry Spanish shield) way, with the rounded tip of Spanish style and the cut field. In field of azure, toast of battlemented gold and mazonada, clarified of azure, diestrada of a natural ship that has broken up a chain that he/she goes from the tower to the right flank of the shield with the prow. In tip, waves of silver sea and azure, all surmontado in the boss of two male heads, reduced and aureoladas. In gules field, a trail discoidal of geometric ornamentation, of the type of the Cantabrian trails of Acne and Lombera.

Colegiata of Santa Juliana of Santillana of the Sea, Autonomous Community of Cantabria (Spain), to which owes its name this Cantabrian (Sant Iuliana - Santillana) town, is one of the monuments more representative románicos of the region. National Monument was declared in 1889.Supuestamente young Juliana was martyred in smaller Asia during (today Turkey) the persecutions undertaken by the emperor Diocleciano at the end of the century III, and her remains brought in the century IX to this place for some monks pilgrims. Already in that moment (the documents locate it in 870) a hermitage was built under the saint's invocation where to guard and to worship its relics, and then a monastery that prospered under the protection of the local nobility. It was the king Fernando I of Castile, in 1045 who gave him/her the definitive impulse for grant of important privileges, one of those which consisted on putting their abbot's low sovereignty the village and their possessions. The primitive temple was substituted in time románica by the one that, with diverse added and you reform, it has been conserved until today that dates of the XII century. In their origins it constituted a Benedictine monastery, but in the XI century he/she acquired the colegiata range governed by a community of canons of San AgustĂn.
