The natural frontier of Ceuta and Morocco is defined by seven hills, crowned by seven towers of style neomedieval, built in the XIX century, dedicated to the surveillance and the defense of to the city: Tower of Pinies, Aranguren, Anyera, Mendizábal, Isabel II, San Francisco and Strong of the Prince Alfonso.These seven hills were denominated in Roman time Septem Frates (seven siblings), and of this term it is believed that the etymology of Ceuta comes. picture: www.ceuta.es

In the year 2.001 Consejería of Education and Culture took charge to the University of Cádiz the realization of the Archaeological Letter of Ceuta. Battery of built coast at the end of the XIX century, with project 1884, of the Engineer Luis Sánchez of Campa, for three pieces artilleras of great caliber. Lifted on the old mosque cathedral at the end of the XVII century, with the teacher's plans Juan of Ochoa and consecrated in the XVIII one. It was reformed by the middle of the XX century following the appearances of the Cathedral of Cádiz, under the direction of the architect José Blein Zarazaga, transforming their facade, the also architect Hermenegildo Bracons Huguet.
