NACEDERO OF THE UREDERRA

Nacedero del Urederra is a 119 hectares Nature reserve that spreads from north on south of the Saw of Urbasa, to the west of Community, from the rocky shelf named Balcony of Pilatos, up to the Baquedano port.

In spite of the high rainfall that happens in this saw, it is difficult to find sources for the structure karstificada of his relief, which leaks the rainwater and accumulates it in a species of big reservoir that produces some surgencias. The most important of them is in the rocky cliff of Nacedero del Urederra, whose form is that of a big natural circus that the erosion of the water has entrusted itself of to shape.

It is one of the areas of Navarre of major biodiversity, due to different ecological ambiences that are generated along the course of the river: the cliff with his gleras and wooded hillsides, the area of surgencias and his gorges and the river surrounded with a thick forest.

In the Reservation, the predominant vegetable species is the beech, but in his most oriental and sunny part abounds also the oak grove. Also, they can find lime trees, rowans, ash-trees, maples, mountain elm trees, aspens, willows, hazels, hawthorns, yews, boxes and junipers, between other species, that especially in autumn, they open all his scale of colors in a chromatic symphony indescribable, to that there add the deep blue of the large puddles of river and the target of his cascades and rapids on having broken the water.

In consonance with the vegetable wealth, the fauna is also numerous: martens, martens, wild cats, badgers and jabalies are them more out-standing mammals. In the coffees with a dash of milk jackdaws shelter the Egyptian vultures and them , in the forest, the sparrow-hawk and walking along the shores of the river it is listened to the aquatic blackbird, to the tits and coalmen and to many other birds.
