Placed to the south-west of the vale of Aezkoa, between the rivers Urrobi and Irati, the Maple vale there contains a jewel of Romanesque Navarrese, who cannot allow visiting. His church parochial is from the architectural point of view one of better copies of the Romanesque rural Navarrese. Shortly before there comes to Zandueta, a small bridge that crosses the river between the trees, and that it is necessary to cross on foot, he leads us in few meters to the chapel of Santa Maria of Maple. His structure, of rectangular plant and head semicircular, is covered of a reinforced vault of half a cannon with arches fajones and, in his set, there highlights it surprisingly harmony of his proportions and the delicacy of his reliefs. These are particularly showy so much in the cover that covers it carried as in the front itself. In the center, crossed for river Irati, the Maple vale, with the forest of white oak of Olaldea, is one of the most interesting of Europe, which grows along with chestnut-trees and birches.
