Báguena is a municipality turolense that belongs to the Jiloca region. A population of 558 has inhabitants. The Town is placed to a 793 meters altitude for on the sea level and the distance for highway with Teruel the capital of the province is 86 kilometers.
They say that the Town was born about a fortitude built in term of the Town, named The Vayo and that it was later occupied by the order named The Templarios who in exchange for a certain protection were obtaining a very cheap labor and food sufficient for his subsistence.
In the city center of this population is necessary to stand out like more excellent construction the parochial church of the Asunción, baroque work of the XVIIth century of masonry and hewing of stone. Another building that we must emphasize is the chapel of Santa Barbara. Also we can see a notable collection of Aragonese palaces of brick of XVIIth century. Also the remains of the castle, the convent of San Valentin and other interesting buildings.
It celebrates his holidays of the following way: On February 3, San Blas. On August 31, Unborn San Ramón and September 14, Saint Christ of the Miracles.
We have several areas of natural interest in Báguena:
1. The mouth of the boulevard of the Arguilay.
2. The laundry room and the bridge on the Jiloca, with small groups of black poplars headrests downstream.
3. The ancient godforsaken channel, which now serves as small route cattle.
