Bañón is a municipality turolense that belongs to the Jiloca region. It has a population of 188 inhabitants. Town is placed to a 1141 meters altitude over sea level and the distance for highway with cardinal Teruel of province is 73 kilometers.

The parochial church of Saint John Bautista (XVIIth Century) is a work baroque of masonry, with three ships, covering with way vault cannon with fanlights and with dome in the cruise; the vaults have esgrafiado: masonry tower with two bodies; he keeps in his interior good number of baroque works of art and rococo, between that stands out: the stage of the Sacred Family and of the Piety (XVIth Century), the images of the Blessed Virgin, of the Child of the Ball and that of Saint John Baptist (XVIIth Century) and two reredoses of the S. XVII.

It celebrates on January 29 and September 17.
