BARRACHINA is I populate of 175 inhabitants. Formerly there were 234 inhabitants but as in many places of Spain the Town have emigrated to the cities. To avoid it depopulation Argentine families have come.

It is placed to 77 kilometers of cardinal Teruel and we are in one 1.047 meters height on the sea level as what in winter we have very low temperatures.

In Barrachina almost the whole world is employed at the agriculture and her cattle. The predominant cultivation is the cereal (barley, wheat, sunflower) and also the saffron. The flocks of sheep walk for the whole area.

The industrial sector is in Calamocha, which is the biggest Town of the region. There the famous ham of Teruel is treated.

Of interest:

the parochial church of La Asunción, baroque construction of the century XVII, and that in his interior a parochial cross of the century preserves XVI.

On the foot of the church we see the market, a building of a plant to double slope. Another building that we must emphasize is the chapel of San Ramón, popular construction of the XIXth century.
