The history and the remains that stay of Híjar can turn in a vistita for the town covering three sectors. Jewish quarter, Moorish Quarter, Christian Quarter:
The enclosure of Mellah or Jewish quarter
It survives well in a suburb that closes on the san square Anthony, where is the synagog located - of ends of the Middle Age - today turned into chapel of san Anthony.
The Moorish quarter
From the old highway, up to the quarter of San blas, extended on a small vale, with the mosque, later church of Magdalen. In this part of the trip civil buildings are appreciated like the house of the Justice in the same square of San Blas.
The quarter of the Christians
The parochial church of Santa Maria the Biggest, one of the works teachers of the Mudejar in the province. The open chapel of Arches Virgin, one of the most singular of the region, forming a beautiful corner in the square of the Parish. The chapel of Santa Ann sustained by a reduced arch, in a breach of wall that leads to the Biggest street.
Híjar preserves a rich and varied scenery. The steppes, one of more peculiar ecosystems of the Low Aragon, characterize for theirs wide flatness and almost nonexistence of trees and bushes.
In any bakery the traveler can acquire the famous cakes "closed" or of roscón" amen of other handmade varieties.
Híjar belongs to the Route of the Drum and the Big drum, being carried out the day of Maundy Thursday in the night it "rompida of the hour". (ftes. and text to see links)
