His historical importance is already given for step of the Real Path or Roman Way that from North on South, crosses term in the direction of Saguntum and that was coming from Biblilis (Calatayud).
The Sarrión antiquity is determined by a series of towns whose remains place the first place of the Town (The Quemao, Her Chapiza, …). Some of supposedly belonging them to Celtiberian, territories of the ancient Segóbriga (Segorbe), capital of the Celtiberia and that were coming up to Saragossa.
Penetrating for the streets of the locality, soon we breathe mellow historical and traditional flavor that impregnates the air that we breathe. We gain access across the Portal of Teuel, only one of preserved medieval accesses that were part of the wall defensive. Soon we come across with interesting ancestral houses as is the Palace of Monterde, work of the XVIth and XVIIth centuries and others large houses of clear Renaissance cut with good hewing of stone fronts, elegant flat accesses and typically Aragonese auctions in form of galleries of arquillos.
The Escaleruela: Small locality considered quarter of Sarrión placed along with the spring with the same denomination being one of the most deep of the whole Peninsula. (ftes and text to see links)
