In plenary meeting piedemonte of the well-known Saw of the Camarena we meet the municipality of Valacoche, his head settles in a sloping hillside from which there dominates everything the garden of the river that takes his name.

Everything seems to indicate that his origins are related with fortitude that rises in the highest part of the hill that presides to at area. We count with big part of the wall surrounded to the rock and three turrets, of which the central one was that of major importance.

the castle dominates the hamlet of this place, lay dominion of Fernández of Heredia from the XIVth century. The fortification, of big extension, possesses a plant lengthened in whose ends there appear, much ruined, a circular tower and a square turret. In the center of the set it rises, also in the bad state, which undoubtedly was her principal tower. It preserves nevertheless good wall linens surrounded to the rock, which, like the rest, they must date of the XIVth century.
The city center of the population settles under the castle, in southern hillside of the hill. In festive Valacloche cycle it has in Saint Quiteria, celebrated on Sunday more next to May 22, one of his moments more emphasized. The organization of the holiday runs in charge of clavarios, volunteers and without fixed number. The central act consists of the blessing of the bread and the wine in the Town hall, before being distributed between the assistants.
