Añover is a term arabizado that means "the gifts". Also it can mean to "circulate" or "the round thing". This town was founded by Fernando III in 1222. The settlers received the territory for juro from estate, for them and his progeny, with the obligation to pay the tithe to the Church and certain tributes to the Crown. Such taxes were transferred later by the same Fernando III, on April 2 of 1243, to don Rodrigo Jiménez of Inlet and to archdiocese toledana, that enjoyed this authorization until September 17, 1466. In this date, don Alfonso Carrillo sold the expressed rights to don Luis Carrillo, in exchange for the payment of an annual quantity to archbishops of Toledo. The heiresses of don Luis de Carrillo, Constance and Elizabeth, transferred in turn such rights to don Rodrigo Child, who transmitted them later to his son Juan, who incorporated them into the primogeniture that it founded with the title of The Arches. Añover was fastened to Toledo until the year 1652, which became emancipated, doing town to him by virtue of real certificate of don Felipe IV, sent on December 4 of the expressed year.
