The voice "arcicóllar" stems of "he marries of cicolla" and it could come from "clay", "arcillero", in this case would be the "house of the arcillero". In the middle of the XIIth century it calls it itself "Darcilla" and "Arcicólla". It is located in the year 1144 like farmhouse of the Channels payment, in the jurisdiction of Toledo. The first time that is said is 1140. Alfonso VII gave this town to one don Juan, archdeacon of Segovia and to don Arnaldo de Corvín, canon, with the terms that it had in the Moslem epoch. In a document dated in 1151, don Juan did the division of the town to himself between, already Osma bishop, and the above-mentioned master of Corvín. Spent four years, this gentleman gives his part to several persons so that they populate territory; in this moment it is when the Town is founded. The bishop of Osma, delivers his half to a niece called Placencia, married with Gonzalo Petri, like Mozarabic her. Mrs Columba, daughter of Placencia, gives to Juan Domínguez the fourth part of the ground of his property. Close to the town there was, in the XIIIth century, a farmhouse named "Villafranca". In 1581 it belonged in the ecclesiastic to the Knees arciprestazgo. (Fte.-Texto Delegation)
