The first name of this Town was that of "Perusa", in the IXth century; then his name been "Cirilos", in the XIIth century; later "Villarreal". In the XVIIth century one knows for "Ceruelo" and "Plums", at the end of the XVIIIth for "Cirolillos" and "Plum trees", the last one can be motivated by the agiotopónimo "San Ciruelo". His existence dates of the year 803, it was donated by Alfonso VII to Don Pelayo Pérez de Fromista and to Don Pedro Díaz Marrón that in turn it they transferred the Abbot of Fitero Raimundo; that was under the Order of Calatrava, until perhaps for exchange it happened to depend on Toledo like village. In the XVIIIth century it was called perusa to a possession contiguous to the hamlet of Plum trees, of special relevancy it is her Parochial church dedicated to the Asunción of Our Lady, in her there is the tomb of San Raimundo, Abbot of Fitero and founder of the Order of Calatrava, who died in this town in the year 1163. tomb was financed by Carlos III in 1768, when body of the saint moved to the convent of the Monte-Sión of Toledo.
