The name of "Dosbarrios" is due to the fact that formerly there were two Towns separated by the vale that was calling of Carábanos. Possibly it was one of twelve villages Olcades. The sure information that are known represents in the questionnaire that King Felipe II ordered to the Town halls for his answer in the year 1575. In a relation of the 2nd half of the XVIth century it is said that our town was formed by "two quarters"; separated for of Valdecarábanos, one of them destroyed and between two Towns, there was the national source, which was possibly a cause of struggle between the neighbors of one and another town. In the year 1177 the place happens to the Order of Santiago, between other places the Castle of Two Quarters; being repopulated by virtue of the granted jurisdiction, in the year 1192, by Don Rodrigo Yenéguez, master of Santiago, in favor of Rodrigo Roquer and his brothers. Before this date Alfonso VIII had transferred to the above-mentioned Order. In 1213 document is named to Two Quarters in one on the acquisition of Huts of Yepes. It was necessary to have given him the name of town previously to his rebuilding. This town was burned by the French after the Ocaña battle. (Fte.-Texto Delegation) |
