The Campillo means the "small field", recounted to the cultivation plots cereal or fences that get ready between the hamlet and in his precincts. It prevails in such a way that in the XVIIIth century it was not forming a close hamlet yet, but groups or quarters where the houses alternate with the fences, the olive groves and the vineyards. In his first times it was a village founded on a place known with the name of "Rockrose of Talavera" and belonging to the kingdom of Toledo, being during length time property of the dominion of the town of Limekiln. It begins to to fill once the Christians have conquered to the Almohad ones in the Plain mountains of Toulouse. In this first epoch one knew to the town like the "Plain mountains of the Campillo". In 1495 it appears already with the name of " Campillo". (Fte.-Texto Delegation) |
