In accordance with the relation of 1576, them nearby deponents say: "... that the town of The Tint was called this way for being placed in high place and that from her see many villages and grounds...". The term "tint", it is a hispanicized Latin word in the XIVth century, which it means to "see" or "dress". Although it happens like ancient Town, it is more probable that it began to to have certain relief when one depopulates "Elm trees". For the toponymy existing, an ancient Roman and Arabic population justifies herself, and also a later Castilian repopulation. In 1576 the name of The Tint is known simply and it is a town in the kingdom of Toledo, placed in the region of The Sand. It belongs to the dominion of Fernando de Alarcón, commander of the order of Saint John and Gallium of the same one.
