The term "Valdecarábanos" could originate in "Xenan the Ward" that means "yards of the rose", for the fertile plain and irrigation that in her happen.

Alfonso VII, granted to the of Malaga Mozarabs some estates in Valdecarábanos so that it was repopulating them. Conquered the fortitude of Calatrava, this territory is repopulated in the XIIth century, happening to Military order of Calatrava. On a probable Moslem work, the Gentlemen of the said order raised, on domineering hill, the Castle of the Garden, at the end of the XIIth century; giving in this one at the end of the XVIth century; and being ruined in the XVIII.th century Alfonso VIII gives to the Order of Calatrava the Castle of Valdecarábanos. In 1245 the name of the Garden appears of Valdecarábanos, in this year goes on to civil domain.
