Illán comes from "Julianus". The local name originates in the cult San Illán or Julián. "Cows" Arab term "Wakka" proceeds of .

Linked to Cerralbos, his modern origin, starts of a work house. In conscription done in 1512 by Talavera, three soldiers correspond to this one place. In 1523 there is suit between Talavera and On Sunday Pérez, for terms questions in the part of Illán of Cows. In the second half of the XVIth century one says that the place is called Cows and through that in him a happy called Illán was living.
