The ancient way that was going to the river Tagus was used by "Val de Lucillos" or the "Vale of the Tombs", of there the local name originates, and that one takes of the word "Locallus" that is equal to "box", "cofrecillo". The word "Lucillos" esteem of Mozarabic origin. Lucillos had being administered by Talavera as village of his Earth; in 1369 spends this important town to depend on the dominion of archbishops toledanos, following equal luck Lucillos. It is part, to the effect of the titles of sales taxes, of the band of Villanueva of the Fork. In 1521, in a document of the file Talavera policeman three men demand from him that they could come to to defend the city before the possible raising of the Wars of the Communities; therefore it is supposed that the census of the Town was small for the number that the Chief magistrate asks talaverano to for villages of Torrelamora, Chestnut grove, Orchard, Avellaneda, Clever and San Roman, almost they all have disappeared at present. The village was granted of Lucillos, as he says the Cadaster of Cove to the Cardinal D. Luis Maria de Borbón, appearing in this census of 1752. (Fte.-Texto Delegation to see link) |
