It owes his name to king Sancho IV of Castile and León, which changed his ancient name of "Malpartida" for of "Improved" in 1299. Reconquered Talavera of the Queen and being in her Alfonso VIII (1126-1157), gave to this town his first municipal terms, which are those who later had the Cervera villages and Improved, in 1152. Sancho IV gave to Juan García of Toledo, his biggest doorman, the grounds of Improved. He is undoubtedly this personage the one that founds the village and it raises the castle. Already in times of Enrique II, he was a gentleman of Improved, with the town title, don Diego García Gómez. In 1486 there exercises the feudal dominion don García de Toledo, who supports suits for limits question with Talavera. Later the town happens and castle, with the places of Segurilla and Cervera for heredity, to Mrs Maria Manrique of Toledo, the first wife of the Marquess of Montemayor, Juan de Silva and Rivera, first of this title; it happens, later to Diego López of Toledo, which sold it to his nephew Juan of Ayala, master of Onion. Finally it goes on to to the fief of a count of Oropesa. (Fte.-Texto Delegation to see link) |
