The name comes to him for his presumable founder, the Moor Alejo, of whom it took his name: "Plain mountains of the Moor Removed" or "Navalmoralejo". In his beginning the Town Navalmoral was called, up to approximately the XVIIIth century. The Town had his origin in precincts of a lookout of the Moslem time, opposite to one source named a Source of the Mulberry tree, and placed in plain mountains; quite not far from a cattle gully. To these close factors there owes her repopulation that it had between the ends of the XIIIth century and beginning of the XV.th. According to the popular saying, the Town was founded by a called Moor I remove, that was coming from the ancient so called enclosure "City of Basques", and that for disagreements with the "Chief" or "Sheikh" was exile to this place, devoting itself to the pasture and founding this way I populate.
