"Hillock" derived from the Latin - Hispanic term "altarium", recounted to that the cult started to the "top gods" took place in high place. Also it can mean "elevation of area". In the XVIth century one speaks of existence of a chapel devoted to Our Lady of Coca; to the ends of the XVIIIth century it is said, in another relation, that "this Town was called formerly a Coca, for the water scarcity". In possibly Mozarabs were inhabiting territory and it was repopulated, in XIIth century or earlier, by old and Galician Castilians. The municipality was already possessing a municipal meadow and a pasture boyal. The Count of Orgaz puts the justice . In 1594 Domingo Pérez was following Hillock integrated to the County of Orgaz, compound, for Saint Olalla, Roofed, Erustes, Carriches, The Bush and Adovea. In 1669, the regency of Mariana de Austria did town to itself during , in the reign of Carlos II; continuing in the Orgaz dominion but already with administration independent from Saint Olalla.
