It is possible that the term "Pantoja" is one antropónimo, recounted to the personage who had properties or dominion in this ancient village of Toledo. In Mozarabic documents of the centuries XII and XIII appears the reference to three persons, a call "Alfonso Pantoja", other one "Pedro de Pantoja", and the renowned third one "Pedro Domingo Assacal" known by that of "Pantoja". These grounds dealt for Alfonso VI, at the same time that it was dominating Toledo in 1085. For his proximity to this city, in Pantoja had properties neighbors of Toledo and, especially, his church archiepiscopal. In 1173 a Mozarabic document is quoted to Pantoja, like farmhouse, in . In 1576 it kept on being a village of Toledo, in Sagra; but already in 1628 it freed itself of the jurisdiction of Toledo, doing town to him, having for it, the pertinent jurisdiction, naming his justices.
