In documents of the XVIIIth century our town "Good-for-nothing" is named to , one could recount to the existence of some common looms of linen and tow, which existed still in the XVIIth century or it can be as regards the activity of ancient looms that existed in this town and with the fair of Christ of the Hope, in which linen brought by the mountain ones was selling.

It appears in the Middle Age like Escalona village, submitted to his administration, like head of the ducal dominion. On May 18, 1635 the villazgo privilege is granted; staying close, like such a town, to the ducal Escalona house up to the suppression, in XIXth century, of the jurisdictional dominions. Owing to his elevation to town raised the jurisdictional roll, in granite, in where the date of this promotion is recorded. (Fte.-Texto Delegation to see link)
