According to Menendez Pidal the place name "quero" derives from the noun "ligur" that means "rock". "Quer" means "mount peñascoso", in Catalan. The grounds from Quero go on soon to the order of Saint John, in 1162. Being Alfonso VIII in Toledo does donation: "I donate itaque nonencore... Et Sancto Ospitali quatour uilas Anchitrana, aliorum Town, Kero et Atárez...". Then, in 1214, it goes on to the church toledana, for donation of the same Alfonso, until, finally, it returns to the ambience sanjuanista. It is repopulated by the commander of Mother of the son-in-law, on whom Quero territory depends in 1241. (Fte.-Texto Delegation to see link) |
