The place name "Recas" is a derivative of "trains" and this one in turn, of the Arab root "rákab", meaning "trailer", "cavalcade, "courtship". In the XIIth century it is used to name to ours village, indiscriminately "Recas" y "Trains". The finds of Roman mosaics in the place known for Peronilla, where it seems was placed the primitive nucleus urban; new archaeological remains of the Arab epoch bear witness to it presence of nations in this area where Recas is already a continuation in the High Middle Ages of this population. He arranges to meet for the first time, with the name of Recas, in a donation that Alfonso VII does to archbishop of Toledo; then the Channels castle delivers to him with his terms; this way Recas was depending on this castle, and in turn it was part of the patrimony of the metropolitan church of Toledo.
